H O P E
Hope is never lost when you come to me and see,
My sweet little face, that wants to belong and needs to be free.
When time ticks on by, though am quiet and shy,
my joy makes me jump with strides low and high;
then you'll never regret, the doggy you've kept.
My eyes though shine dark, look dimly inept,
reflect only the secrets I've solemenly kept;
Your promise to life as secure as it's vast, helps me forget my sorrow and past.
No more alone till all days are gone!
A lick and a smile, then a run for a mile,
the laughs' in the air
and games we will share.
Come splashing, come rain, or thunderous hail,
I'll still wag my tail;
when rescued I see, that you've made me free.
Hope is not lost and neither are we.
